Objectives
To make CAMELs output available in a form suitable to both inform
policy discussions and other interested scientific groups, through
construction of website with a layered structure and through a
policy-makers brochure summarising the second year annual report and the
final report. To provide further reports and general advice on
carbon sinks to EU policy makers as requested.
Work description
Construct project website with a layered structure suitable for use by
both scientific experts and policy makers.
Regularly update the website to allow access to the latest scientific
findings of the project, along with source sof data and relevant
documents.
Provide coordinated project input to the Member states and scientific
bodies (eg: IPCC, IGBP)
Upon request, give ad hoc consultation to the Commission on issues
concerning current land carbon sinks and sink permanence.
Produce policy-maker summaries of each annual report, which should be
suitable for distribution at relevant policy discussions (eg: UNFCCC
Conference of the Parties)
Deliverables:
D5.1 Project website with a layered structure.
D5.2 Online and ad hoc consultation to the European Commission.
D5.3 Report on the estimation of the contemporary land carbon sink and
its causes.
Milestones:
Month 3 Project website constructed
Month 24 2nd Year annual report plus brochure containing a
policy-makers summary.
Month 36 Final report plus brochure containing policy-makers
summary.
